Before Ken Kurson and John Packel changed the name to Green, the money fanzine they started was known as “The Kenny Quarterly.” This story, in the free-wheeling free weekly New York Press, might have been the very first mention of it that appeared anywhere in print. Paul Lukas, the coiner of the phrase “inconspicuous consumption” and today the brains behind the Uni-Watch blog, trained his eye for detail on the first issue of what would eventually grow to be a “real” magazine.
