Green’s co-founders, Ken Kurson and John Packel, both grew up in Northbrook, IL, so it was particularly satisfying, even amid a torrent of publicity in national print and television outlets, to get a serious story in the hometown weekly newspaper of that small suburb. Packel gets a great line off here: Asked about the pair’s ambition for the fledgling publication, “The sky’s the limit. We want to grow this magazine until every kid in America thinks compound interest is cooler than Weezer.”
