Ken Kurson on ‘Inside Edition’ Discussing the Kids Who Fabricated $72 Million Stock Win

One of the best-trafficked stories of my career was my scoop about how the boy who had supposedly led his high school investing club to $72 million in returns had made the whole thing up. I winded up doing a number of television appearances around this and I tried very hard to remind the world that these were 17 year old kids. Yes, they had lied, but they hadn’t stolen or defrauded anyone of money. The internet has brought us a reality in which no transgression is ever truly forgotten. I’ve tried my best as a journalist to at least add context so that even egregious or outrageous misdeeds are given perspective. I hope this appearance on Inside Edition captures some of that.

  1. I love how you hold the reporters equally accountable. It’s also interesting that you expose the concept of what is now known as “fake news.”
